-Ah yes… bugger
-Ciaran is gone, they’ve left a bloody trail into the distance, away from the river
-If we follow the trail, the expedition will probably beat us there
-Rory is chomping at the bit to go after Ciaran
-Zalac is feeling guilty
-If we split up then someone gonna die
-We will go after Ciaran

-We Travel
-We chase Ciaran’s trail for hours when we hear it - the howl of wolves
-Fog closes in
-Catkin ponders killing Calaz along with the rest of the wolves…

-We push on towards the origin of the howling
-The trail grows all the fresher
-Naomi sees a spectral snow figure floating in the snow around us. Nobody else can see it
-The rest of us think they’re high on The Cheese
-Naomi keeps monitoring the watcher

-We push on only for the trail to disappear
-We heard a “thump”
-We seem to have ran something over…
-Catkin finds a lump in the snow, they try to use fling to remove the snow… the object is too deep
-Rory gets out the shovel
-Rory digs up a skull
-Rory thinks it’s Ciaran
-Catkin and Gowyn recognise that it’s clearly a golem
-Catkin reaches for the skull and we find ourselves facing a phantom

-Zalac sees a cruel elder of their village
-Rory sees Ciaran but… wrong
-Gowyn sees their ex-wife
-Catkin sees the forest goddess
-Naomi and Ginger see an unknown golem

-Catkin immediately loses interest and is transfixed by the skull
-Rory is like “Ciaran! What happened???”
-The rest of us recognise that something’s up

-After some confusion, the spectral being introduces itself as Arcadia
-Arcadia seems… displeased to see us
-Naomi seems very… interested in the spirit (It seems to be male-)
-Arcadia explains that we passed it’s first trial, a trial of loyalty
-The Expedition has reached Greyhook
-Arcadia will judge us harshly
-The spirit wanders off

-We follow the spirit into the fog

-It Snaps, and the animas are talisman-ed
-Then it collapses the ground and we fall into a deep hole
-We are separated into individual caves. We know not where the sled went.
-Rory still has Sai in their pocket, but Sheep is nowhere to be found
-We all proceed down our tunnels

-Gowyn finds a large chamber, a dead end
-It contains a mirror, in which they see… Angharad. She gloats that Gowyn is there, likely to die in the cold.
-“Wow- it’s like I’m talking to her again”

-Rory sees Ciaran in the mirror
-“Why were you so desperate to follow me?”
-“Because you’re my friend” - Rory thinks this is actually Ciaran
-“Ciaran” is Incredibly Cruel. Rory starts to cry

-The goddess accuses Catkin of having no friends. They are incredibly mean about it
-Catkin is crying

-The elder is like… incredibly racist towards Zalac
-They interrogate Zalac, trying to discern their motives for wanting the sword
-Zalac wants it help Calaz, to help their friend

-Naomi is confused. What is going on-
-Arcadia wants them to promise to… “step up to prove , and in exchange

-Angharad threatens to take Sheep
-This causes Gowyn goes off on the image of their ex wife.
-They say their piece and stare down the mirror until the ice cracks

-Rory freaking smashes the mirror and finds Catkin
-Catkin wants the earring Gone
-“get it off me get it off me get it off me get it off me-“
-Rory is unable to remove it with wild magic

-Zalac has proved their commitment, and tries to see what Arcadia knows. They are vagueasks for a door.
-Arcadia provides, and they walk through

-Gowyn, having allowed themself to be truly Angry for the first time, has melted their cave a bit
-The wall falls away to reveal Sheep. Gowyn hugs them.
-They walk up the tunnel, and in their reflection Gowyn sees the flickering image of a young girl, but when they turn around it’s just Sheep the goat

-We reunite up in a cavern

-Catkin is still in great distress
-Gowyn tries to use dark magic to calm them… they manage to heat up the surrounding area
-Gowyn cools it down again-

-The golem bows to us. We all see the golem, except for Catkin who still sees the forest goddess
-We have passed the trial of commitment, up next? Honour

-We argue about how to help Catkin…
-Apparently, Naomi has a ‘cheese’ that could help
-Gowyn yanks Catkin’s ear to try to make them open their mouth- fails
-Naomi darts in, forces Catkin’s mouth open, and throws the cheese in without getting bitten somehow
-They clamp Catkin’s mouth close

-Gowyn asks Catkin nicely to swallow the cheese. They swallow it.

-Turns out Catkin just got cured of the curse of greed they were suffering from… The Uber Cursed Earring was making them lie about what that poison was…
-Catkin is slightly drunk off of the cheese

-Arcadia is pretty annoyed about how long we’re spent on this…

-This interlude has allowed Zalac and Gowyn all to calm down

-We find a frozen door… Zalac has a sense, a sixth sense if you will, that behind the door is something Possibly Bad
-Gowyn knocks, nothing happens
-Rory Smashes a hole in it, and we can’t see… much
-Gowyn spends a second considering their recent melty effects on the cave and tests something
-They walk into the ice door and just kind of… melt through it, leaving a Gowyn-shaped hole
-Whelp… that seems to be pretty decisive proof that they’re a fire element
-Gowyn lights Zalac’s torch with their fancy new fire magic

-We’re in a big hall with… some kind of drawings on the walls
-There are A Lot of golem skeletons here… a lot of them seems to be warriors
-The images seem to depict the golem war… the creation of the weapons, the fracturing of society, the war, and then the Moirai
-This is the final message of the survivors

-Rory tries to light magic a copy of the carvings. It does not work
-We proceed through the room. Halfway down, the door behind us refreezes, the door ahead opens, and the bodies start moving
-We Book It, and find a New Cave

-Ciaran is frozen on an alter in the middle of the cave
-We approach and… uh oh we’ve been followed
-2 Skeleton golems are here
-Rory blocks off the cave mouth with earth, sealing a 3rd in the tunnel
-The followers are now Sprinting. Fight

-Rory raises their shield, but gets Smacked by a freezing skeleton
-Zalac hits them with an arrow
-Naomi murks one with their bow
-Rory smacks the one that hit them with their axe
-Sheep stays with Gowyn to be safe
-Gowyn collapses it’s skeleton with a flame burst

-A new skeleton emerges from the ice, and the just collapsed skeleton tries to grab Rory’s leg
-Rory kicks it away and it stops twitching

-Zalac can tell… something is up? With this whole ritual circle thing? But aren’t quite sure what, and request Gowyn takes a look
-Catkin attacks the newly risen skeleton
-Naomi investigates the ice Ciaran is frozen in… they don’t seem to be extractable by our own means…
-The first fallen skeleton wraps around Gowyn, like a skeleton suit
-Rory attempts to free Gowyn from bone jail
-They succeed!
-Gowyn is free, and Sheep takes the chance to kick the bones away
-Gowyn investigates the ritual
-It’s an incomplete golem burial rite
-There’s unlit candles and an incomplete pattern etched on the ground

-more skeletons appear

-Zalac works on the etching, getting it closer to complete
-Catkin tries to air jail a skeleton… it doesn’t work
-Naomi smacks a skeleton. Spiky, ouch
-A skeleton prison 2, electric boogaloo- Gowyn is back in bone jail
-A skeleton grabs at Naomi and their warm cloak is now Very Cold
-A skeleton punches Rory. Rory is unphased.
-Rory manages to de-bone Gowyn, and raises his shield
-Gowyn manages to set up the candles on the alter, and tries to freeze a skeleton on place
-Said skeleton doesn’t care
-It tries to bone zone Rory, but fails

-MORE SKELETONS (There’s now 8 in play-)

-Zalac completes the carving, and then throws lightning at a skeleton
-The skeleton Smacks them, hard (Double damage from cold)
-A second skeleton hits Zalac
-A skeleton swings at Naomi, but fails
-A third skeleton attacks Zalac, tries to bone prison them but Zalac throws them off
-Catkin lights half the candles
-Naomi moves away from the skeletons
-GOWYN IS IN BONE JAIL AGAIN
-Rory gets pushed by another skeleton
-Rory frees Gowyn from bone jail, and tries to laser a bunch of skeletons. Doesn’t work unfortunately-
-Gowyn lights the remaining unlit candles, and the spiral lights up

-The skeletons crumple to dust

-Arcadia appears. We have completed the trial of honour, but we have a final test.

-We have to sacrifice something… something worth a life.

-Gowyn offers up the Gelu stone made of their soul
-Zalac offers all their research into soul healing
-Rory offers their axe
-It isn’t enough. The writing translates itself- the alter wants something that grants flight.
-Nothing else is enough.
-Nothing else could be enough.

-It wants Naomi’s wings

-Naomi sits on the alter, and a mass of fog collapses in on us

-The temple is gone, we are in the middle of nowhere

-Ciaran wakes up. Everyone’s offered items remain.

-Naomi’s wings are gone.
-The wounds seem long healed.
-The wings are gone.

-We see the river. We are further along than we were
-We see jagged mountains as the sun sets
-Greyhook is near.
