-The expedition party is packing the campsite
-Flame asks if we need anything
-We find out the Tiger Sheath has been burned

-Flame apologises for how… hostile her friends have
-Which, I mean it wasn’t an unfair attitude for them to hold
-A hihiirokane sword is like. A Big Deal and we stuffed it in a tiger
-Also that sword really fucked up their lives

-The camp is packed
-Except Gem’s bag, which Gem is close to murdering

-Chet removes the cornerstone we cracked, and the light bars disappear

-The bars are still there though
-Chet destroys the stone, and the bars explode
-A shard domes Sai, who falls to the ground
-They double triple check that we are going to cooperate
-Otherwise Gem may use Drastic Measures on us
-Considering we watched Gem COMA BEAM us repeatedly
-Drastic measures is something we should probably be afraid of

-We leave the cell and see A Giant Fox
-It’s a massive Scout, attached to the sled
-Scout makes a Noise
-Gem interprets and asks what “the dryads name is”
-We say it’s Rosewood, or Roz for short (Or perhaps Rozwód, which may or may not mean divorce…)
-Roz loves her name so much she says it aloud as her first word!!!!!
-Gem tries to ask her more questions. Roz stonewalls her on account of only being able to say her own name

-Gem rudely refuses to allow Roz to ride the Scout driven sled, to preserve the aer crystals lightening it
-Flame pleads our case, but alas- No.
-Rude.

-We Depart
-We make it a decent way
-A massive gust of wind somehow manages to blow the cursed earring out of Catkin’s ear
-Only Catkin and Sai notice. Neither say anything
-Catkin, as they’re glad to be free of it
-Sai, because they are “an unbothered king”

-We push on
-…and we’ve reached the bottom of the mountain
-Gowyn calls out thanks to Arcadia-

-It is still midafternoon
-We take a break because… well, things are going incredibly well

-Calaz starts sizing themself up against Scout the massive fox
-They have never seen a creature as large as themself before
-They don’t seem to know how to feel about that

-Gem is… confused. By Zalac.
-Because they have been resting for days but Zalac and Calaz still seem Exhausted

-Zalac says that Calaz is sick
-Gem is confused because Zalac pretty clearly is too?
-Zalac and Calaz have a silent conversation, before telling Gem that there’s something… wrong with Calaz’s soul
-Gem puzzles out that the soul affliction is why Zalac creme for The Sword That Messes With Souls
-Miro the IRL cat wants to contribute
-They’ve been searching for answers for years, chasing rumours, getting desperate
-Calaz is only getting worse
-Gem is Baffled that Zalac would encounter this bunch of idiots and actually go with them
-Zalac: “I’m okay with the cold…?”
-Gem starts swearing. Like- a lot
-Zalac tries to explain and Gem is exasperated
-Gem asks to look at Calaz’s soul, and is permitted

-Gem walks up to Calaz and effectively scruffs them like a cat to drag them down to eye level
-Calaz is incredibly startled
-Gem does some (Highly Illegal) dream magic
-Gem is Alarmed
-“This looks like a Hihiirokane wound”
-Chet fails at investigating
-“When did this start?”
-Zalac is incredibly startled by being metaphorically grabbed by the scruff of the neck by the short bird woman
-It’s been going on since Zalac was 16
-Calaz has an old wound on their paw

-It’s a soul wound.
-Like the damage of a Hihiirokane sword
-Gem and Chet sprint for Gem’s poorly packed rucksack

-Chet thinks Calaz has a fragment of a Hihiirokane sword embedded in their paw
-And has had it there for years
-That a fragment was lost in the mountains, frozen, only to thaw and be stepped on by Calaz
-And that when Calaz goes into the talisman Zalac doesn’t realise they have, that fragment goes into Zalac
-Chet, while explaining this, has a pair of tweezers
-Comedically large tweezers

-Calaz is very brave and sits still while the shard gets pulled out

-The shard gets tossed in a jar
-Rory tries to keep track of where the shard goes
-They Know

-The fragment being gone, the wound will stop growing
-Now it needs to be healed
-Gem Will heal it

-Gowyn overhears her telling Chet and Flame that this Will take all her energy and make her pass out

-Gem does it after a couple of false starts
-The soul would is dream magic stitched
-Gem passes out immediately

-Zalac tries to replicate that
-they create a lightning-y stitch that disappears after a second
-…and then they immediately also pass out

-Zalac and Gem (with their animas in their talismen)
-So Naomi and Rory are now being put to work pushing the sled
-Gowyn sneaks Roz into the sled

-Chet is now navigating
-They appreciate Gowan’s offer to help. They do not appreciate Gowyn pointing out that the prisoners outnumber them.

-As it starts getting dark, we are hit by A Very Sudden Massive Storm
-We cannot see anything
-We cannot find shelter

-We Dig one big hole
-Rory is digging
-Gowyn and Flame are melting the snow
-Catkin is flinging dirt
-Naomi reinforcing with wood
-Sai getting rid of the water
-Gowyn lights a campfire

-We Sleep!
-Chet keeps watch

-Morning comes and surprisingly it’s Rory and Naomi who fail to wake up
-Gem is, by Flame’s reckoning, going to be asleep for at least another day
-Gowyn puts snow down the back of their necks

-Rory doesn’t wake up
-Naomi does

-Gowyn gets punched
-Not in the face
-It’s a different critical area
-They do their best to not cry out and just kind of pathetically whine
-So just normal Gowyn things
-It does 7 damage. 25% of Gowyn’s health.

-Sai tries to water hose Rory. Doesn’t work- Rory is now damp and cold

-After an incredibly difficult ordeal, we extract Rory from the hole we dug (still asleep)

-We find a group of wild boar

-Without any discussion, We freaking Go

-Sai pulls out there sword, runs and stabs boar 1
-The boar 1 squeals and fails to take revenge
-Rory runs on all 4s and Crocodile death rolls boar 2 with their teeth sank into them
(-“Holy fuck that was hot”-Catkin)
-Naomi shoots boar 3 with an arrow
-Gowyn follows Naomi’s arrow up with an Inferno. Boar 3 is very much dead
-Roz steals Gem’s axe, runs, and hacks at boar 2, almost taking Rory’s nose off in the process
-Gonger pounces at boar 1
-Boar 2 fails to hurt Rory
-Sai Combusts boar 1. It is also very dead
-Rory concludes that flesh is like rock, but not as hard.
-Rory casts eat a rock.
-Rory tears a freaking chunk out of this poor animal
-Naomi puts it out of it’s misery

-We butcher and cook the boar carcasses

-We pass some… familiar ruins…
-Naomi bursts into tears

-We see Arcadia, and they point us to a hollow in which we can take shelter
-Noami is deeply displeased to see the fucker that took their wings

-Rory, while taking watch, fills our water bottles

-Gem wakes up come the morning and doesn’t flip Rory off - they even give a small wave
-Everyone gradually wakes up
-Except Gowyn, who is still asleep and gets thrown in the sled

-We’re in some familiar territory
-Rory sinks into the snow in the same way they did on our way in
-…and we hear howling
-Gowyn wakes up

-Catkin is unable to levitate Rory out of the hole
-But Naomi *is* able to pull them out with a rope

-We can hear the creatures footsteps

-Gowyn sets a tree on fire to try to scare the creatures
-…it seems ineffective

-We move
-…and Naomi sinks into the snow this time

-Chet levitates Naomi out of the hole
-We get into the sled
-Chet makes it Glow Purple As Hell and starts pulling

-The wolves. They are Big. And Coming at us.
-Bugger
-We start throwing shit
-Sai summons a Snow Wave and wipes them out

-We barrel through the fog wall
-We Are Free
-We Lived!

-Rory gives Chet some energy potion
-They accept
