Devine’s Notes:
-We emerge, frazzled, from the forest
-Gowyn looks ready to cry from the stress
-Time to descend some mountains
-We’re in a copyrighted area

-Journey phase
-Navigator: Diana
-Lookouts: Gowyn
-Hunters: Rory, Catkin, Naomi

-We get going
-Rory hunts
-…and steps on a cactus
-Rory is now covered in cacti
-Catkin flings one
-Gowyn …tries… to whip one out… fails
-Naomi ripens one? And Rory removes it-
-1 remains, but we opt to just… move on

-We carry on, and reach a road!
-YELLOW FLOWER
-Catkin obliterates it
-Thank fuck
-We have found a village!
-plenty of people, all speaking Eremi
-A couple stick out… one with a massive dog
-Dog! Also Zalac and Sai-
-Catkin really wants to get away from Big Dog
-Rory tries to pet the dog- dog might not be biting but they’re judgmental as heck-
-Mass petting of massive dog
-The groups greet each other
-The goat and dog get into a staring contest
-Sai goes to pet the goat… gets headbutt (by sheep)

-The goat won the staring contest

-Rory asks the dog what their name is. Rory does not realise this dog is an anima
-Catkin is entirely unhappy about the noises this dog is making
-Dog is named Calaz (Calaz was entirely insistent on having that name)
-Zalac is completely unsurprised that a goat is named sheep

-The villagers are under the mistaken assumption that we have money
-Gowyn tries to convince Sai and Zalac that the cactus in Rory’s butt is an accessory Rory feels protective of (Success tbd)
-Rory and Catkin wander off to buy stuff
-Calaz is unnerved by the goat
-Catkin casually mentions to the locals that they met the local diety
-Everyone stocks up on food and water as needed

-The goat has never closed its eyes and Gowyn is now aware of this fact - even when it slept
-Naomi is shopping for poison components

-The locals ask for our help
-in Eremi though, and only Catkin understands
-Catkin tries to leverage this to get rid of Calaz… fails
-Sai and Calaz have no idea what we’re doing but they seem to be along for the ride-
-Zalac may be unconvinced but Calaz is peer pressuring them
-Calaz stands up and Catkin is so startled they hear out the villagers proposition
-…we are told to kill… a wako?
-Calaz really wants to eat a wako, they’re wagging their tail
-So does Rory, they’re wagging their butt cactus

-The villagers are slightly put off by how excited we are about this

-Apparently something has… driven them here? Lured them here?
-We’re being offered thoughts and prayers in exchange for our help
-Considering Catkin met their goddess, that is perhaps more potent than we otherwise might have thought
-The portal won’t open again for another 19 days

-We agree to Hunt
-We decide to wait in the village over night
-Rory removes the cactus from his butt
-We settle in a provided house

-Day 15
-We awake in the still pretty early morning
-We have adoring fans waiting outside
-We have directions
-They provide a pelt and tooth/tusk for reference
-Zalac and Naomi notice the goat is weirdly interested in the pelt
-Naomi brings out Ginger- Zalac discovers that talisman exist

-Journey phase:
-Navigator: Sai
-Hunter: Rory, Catkin, Zalac, Calaz, Naomi
-Lookout: Gowyn, Ginger, Diana

-We set off!
-Catkin finds a potential trail (while trying to evade Calaz)

-We take another, singular, step-
-Calaz is very excited and the smells! So many!
-Calaz has found a dead animal
-Toothy clawed snake elephant- gootslang
-Naomi takes a spine
-Calaz YELPS like a thunder clap
-Catkin shits themself
-Rory also steals a spine
-Sai thinks the marks in the side match the tooth we were shown

-Tally ho, we go
-Gowyn smells something… rancid
-Calaz smells it too, and peers up the mountain
-A dead Wako falls down
-Whatever the smell is from is up in the direction
-there’s a rumbling
-Gowyn spots a “Giant lion like creature with bat wings”
-“Don’t panic, we’re a bit fucked”

-Dog barks at the beast, Catkin shits

-Combat time

-The creature charges the dog because of the barking
-Naomi shoots it with a bow
-Catkin flings a piece of cactus at the creature
-Gowyn creates a patch of thick, dark fog to hide in
-Sheep investigates the Wako
-Diana casts air shield to increase their armour
-Rory muscles up and attacks with his axe
-Zalac attacks with lightning
-Ginger dives at it and… bounces off, but does a little damage-
-Colaz bites, still pinned though
-The creature stings ginger with a lightning-y poisonous stinger. The poison does not hold as Ginger is plant element… it was a crit
-Sai Misses
-Naomi shoots it and hits
-Catkin scratches it and
-Gowyn freezes it’s mouth shut
-Goat is… gone?
-Diana attempts to heal the really quite badly hurt ginger- success! They are major plant!
-Rory hits it hard
-Zaloc shoots
-Ginger casts tangle
-Colaz attacks
-Creature bounces at Rory and slashes quickly
-Sai attempts to burn it… fails unfortunately
-Naomi shoots it again!
-Catkin uses scratch- it’s not very effective…
-Gowyn blinds the creature
-Rory hits it again quite hard
-the creature is alive, if only just
-Zaloc’s arrow finds it’s mark
-Ginger charges again, styles on the creature, and the creature falls unconscious

-Colaz locks it’s jaw on the creature’s throat
-…There are more dead wako corpses… seems like sheep was busy
-Colaz and Rory be eating the beast
-It is indeed a manticore… which is native to equimid. It’s got the kind of marks on it’s legs that scream ‘circus’
-One of the wako is… weird
-“Fuck sake- is Sheep a chupacabra”
-turns out the flat Wako is actually sheep the mimic
-We lead the village folk to the site of the manticore

-Feast! Also money!
-And we sleep once more in

Wan’s Notes:

• Everyone has emerged from the jungle, Gowyn looks like he’s had another divorce
• Diana is back
• Can see Acacia Town far away past the mountains
• Diana navigating
• Rory found and fell in cacti, 3 cacti are embedded in him
o Catkin pulls one out with magic
o Gowyn tries to pull one out with Dim Whip, fails
o Continue with 2 cacti still in him
o Naomi ripens one and Rory pulls it out, one left
• Catkin finds a road with a familiar yellow flower in it, destroys it with ice magic
• We get to a village, meet 2 people (Sai and Zalac) and a very large dog (catkin shits himself)
• They are speaking Western Common unlike all the locals speaking Eremi, go over and speak to them
o Catkin wants to run away
• Rory pets the dog and says nothing, Gowyn has to be his PR team
• Dog has a staring contest with the dog
• Sai tries to pet the goat, gets headbutted
• Rory asks the dog’s name, the dog makes a non-dog noise
o Name Calaz, Zalac’s anima
• Locals start putting up a market around us (tourists)
o Catkin sells a spell
o Everyone buys rations, water etc
• Locals talk to catkin, have a proposition for the group
o Catkin lies that they hate the dog, not believed
o Person in broken english asks for help because the dog is big?
o Catkin shits himself again
o Explains that they live next to the jungle, lots of big scary animals in there, including the Wako, they want us and the dog to deal with the Wako
o Calaz and Rory want to eat the Wako
o They want us to drive away/kill the wako, don’t know why they’ve come out here, something is likely causing it, have found cat-like tracks
o Want us to deal with wako without leading whatever the cat tracks are to the village
• We spend the night at the village, given a house to stay in
• Set off in the morning heading north, Sai leading navigation
• Catkin sees off the main track there is upturned earth, activity etc, could be a good sign
• Keep going, make it 1 step before Calaz finds a big carcass, the bones of a giant elephant creature- the snake elephant creature from the picture, ripped apart by claws
o Dog thunderclap barks, catkin shits himself again
• Gowyn smells something rotten
• Dead wako gets yeeted down to the path, and a massive bat winged lion appears from the trees
• Dog barks at it, catkin shits himself, the lion roars back
o Calaz is in a thunder dick measuring contest
• Roll initiative!
o Lion attacks big dog, bites Calaz
o Sai sprays lion with Water Hose
o Naomi shoots with an arrow
o Catkin flings a cactus at the lion
o Gowyn hides himself in a cloud of darkness
o Diana uses air shield
o Zalac electrocutes the lion
o Ginger tackles the lion
o Lion lighting stings ginger
o Sai misses
o Naomi shoots it with another arrow
o Catkin scratches it and casts air shield
o Gowyn froze the lion’s mouth shut
o Diana heals Naomi/Ginger
o Can’t be bothered to write every turn, we doing damage, lion uses speed up then slashes Rory
o Keep attacking, Ginger gets the final hit
• Calaz and Rory eat some of the manticore, doesn’t taste great
• Gowyn goes to look for Sheep, there’s another dead Wako
• It’s not a dead wako, it’s a wako pelt
• It’s not a wako pelt, it’s sheep the goat???
• Sheep the mimic, disguised as a wako pelt
• Calaz and Zalac butcher the manticore
• Go back to the village, have a big feast of manticore meat and get paid
