Numishoni Notes

-We are magically closer to Grey Hook
-Naomi has been crying for the past day or so
-It starts hailing
-Catkin is looking out- the wind is spooky and kinda weird
-Gowyn takes a short rest
-Rory’s heated tent is not good enough for a long rest because it’s missing a key component (Catkin)
-Time to go further- Journey Time!
-Rory’s anima (the sled) probably won’t make it though
-Gowyn is navigating, Rory is hunting, Catkin is looking out
-The clouds part in front of us and the sky is blue- the clear view lets us see a path that leads to a city-shaped parting in the mountains
-We see a wolf puppy wagging it’s tail panting skittering zoomies towards us
-Rory pets it and it is so happy about it
-We can’t really see any other wolves around but the puppy is very glad to sit on Rory’s head with Sai the rabbit
-Rory names the puppy Miguel II
-The good weather does not last- it starts snowing again
-Gonger manages to keep track of the path
-Very quickly it starts hailing again
-While setting up camp Rory slips and starts falling off the edge Looney Tunes style
-Naomi tries to fly and then bursts into tears
-Gowyn tries to Shadow Grapple and bursts into tears
-Catkin is fast enough to reach the edge and casts Air Stair under Rory who is screaming in fear while not moving anywhere
-Gowyn still ties the Shadow Grapple anyway and manages to cast a Fire Lash instead which hits Rory
-The puppy has eaten half of Rory’s food he’s a growing boy you need to understand Rory stop being a bitch about it gosh he is so full of soup and eepy beepy
-The hail keeps getting worse and the wind is scary again i don’t like it when it does that
-Gowyn is looking out this time and also does not like the wind and also sees a shape in the distance when the lightning flashes
-Catkin gets a nice full rest snuggling up to Rory but Rory is too distraught by the puppy
-The road is gone and we can’t really take the sled anymore
-Rory creates a gold-ish crystal next to the sled to mark where we left it
-We find a way better resting place as soon as we wake up
-Rory trips again and his foot is covered by something black that was under the snow
-Rory and Catkin are clueless but Gowyn knows it’s just soot- probably from a recently abandoned fireplace
-Rory takes a dig around because he hasn’t gotten to really play with his shovel yet but doesn’t find much other than some hair stuck to a rock- it’s ginger hair
-We let Miguel II walk instead of carrying him
-The snow is very heavy now but we reach a plateau
-Everyone’s arguing about what we’re supposed to do so Catkin holds his hand up his hand and blasts the snowstorm away
-Gowyn is VERY impressed
-Catkin can’t believe that actually worked
-There’s a very, very old rope bridge across a ravine
-Rory asks the puppy to cross first and gets a sassy look
-Catkin tries to support the bridge with Air Stair
-Zalac crosses it just fine but does not know if the Air Stair actually worked
-Gowyn also makes it across fine
-Naomi walks across fine but it’s very scary for her
-Zalac flies back over to take Miguel II and Maybe Sai the Rabbit, gives Catkin some energy and then walks across the bridge with the vicious creatures
-Rory attempts to cross the bridge and immediately his foot goes through the first plank and the support breaks
-Rory tries to create a bridge of rock across and after asking fate for a redo succeeds
-Zalac holds Rory’s hand and they make it across
-Catkin takes a casual stroll over the stone bridge
-Miguel II and Maybe Sai the Rabbit go back on Rory’s head
-We continue moving for a bit before finding a cave
-Zalac sees a bottle in the ice- Gowyn melts the ice and gets the bottle out
-The bottle has a gloopy liquid in it- Ciaran has no idea but it’s probably ancient
-Gowyn snatches the bottle while Rory and Naomi arm wrestle over who gets to drink the gloop juice why (Rory wins that’s my goat)
-Gowyn hands the bottle to Naomi anyway, who drinks it
-The gloop is gross, it’s steaming and smells bad and has the consistency of snot
-Nothing happens to Naomi tho so surely this will have no consequences
-Zalac is looking out again and this time makes sure that his eyes are actually open
-Through the night, Zalac sees a big gate below and some ruins ahead, then later a big light past the gate of a bright blue colour, and THEN outside the gate is something gigantic that’s moving back and forth
-It’s now daytime, we move close to the gate
-We have no idea what the monster is but it’s dark and it moves!
-As we start moving closer we see person sized footprints in the snow
-Zalac flies high but can’t see anything, the rest of the group follows
-Zalac goes further yet and can now see over the first set of walls- there’s something VERY big behind the wall
-Zalac lands on top of the wall (the monster behind the wall is a Tarwayar but the party doesn’t know that)- Zalac can guess that it’s about 10m tall and can see that there are claw marks on the walls- quickly reasons that this looks like the kind of thing that an ancient civilization would build walls to protect and that it was probably tracking the previous party which is why they closed the gate
-Ciaran and Gowyn remember reading about it in the library- they’re more commonly found up north and south
-It’s known as the Storm Eater which lines up mighty well with the storms we’ve been experiencing
-Ciaran recommends avoiding it rather than fighting it
-Unfortunately we also don’t know how to open the gate
-But that’s a problem for future us baby i love procrastinating my problems
