The Misadventures of Portalling

The gang is vibing in Acacia Town; we all roll well on our fortunes in the area, so we earned some gold and have plenty of rations
Naomi has way too much fucking money and Zalac only has 10 but like whatever
Despite living with Naomi and Diana for several weeks, Zalac has absolutely zero idea of what the grander adventure they’re all on is as a whole. He has no idea. He’s just happy to travel with everyone because he was already travelling
Calaz on the other hand rolled a nat 20 and is 100% aware of what they’re all doing and thinks surely Zalac knows
Zalac has a Rutas ID but doesn’t have any identification for Calaz. He’s only had Calaz for 2 years and no one told him he had to update his ID so anyway long story short he’s accidentally smuggled Calaz through multiple portals by now, doesn’t know how,
Diana has a fake ID from Eastern Kingdom
Naomi is normal and has a normal ID from Paradise. crops watered. in her lane. Flourishing
We don’t do much shopping, just finish up a few things and go to the portal
Naomi tells Zalac what a talisman is! Zalac is still confused
Turns out Zalac’s glasses are his talisman and he has had no idea this entire time because he’s baby. Shhhh don’t tell him
Zalac manages with cinnamon roll baby powers to entirely misunderstand the border control officer’s dialogue enough to bumble through the conversation without issue. The streak of smuggling Calaz continues
Naomi also gets through without issue (legally this time) but decides to register as an alchemist in the East (extremely inconvenient) in order to keep her cheese (very important)
Diana is not great at being charismatic and their border control lady is pissy but they get through with high fortune
WE ARE SO LEGAL GUYS WE DID SUCH A GOOD LEGAL JOB AT GOING THROUGH THE PORTAL
no actually how did we get double illegality through border control with zero problems
Naomi goes to alchemist school to get her license and learns how to make a new potion kind of badly
succeeded (did extremely mid) at potions class wahoo
Naomi has now spent so much money
ok guys how did everyone’s week go?
Zalac promptly rolls a 1 and has no money and no bitches
Diana also rolls a 4 and has some money and no bitches
Naomi has a wonderful beautiful time <3 with food and water and A TON OF MONEY AGAIN
Zalac and Diana are so late to the portal but it’s fine it’s cool we’re coping (we’re all losing energy together)
Calaz currently is holding all of the braincells and makes sure to stay in his secret talisman that Zalac doesn’t know about! Wahoo
Naomi goes through the portal like a good legal kid with all of her weird alchemy things and easily arrives in Dorcha
Zalac gets distracted by the dog animas for a while but goes through the Dorcha portal without a flinch (surely Catkin won’t have any problems in the next session)
Finally our beautiful illegal portal heist sees problems; Diana’s ID gets flagged at the portal entrance
Diana tries to run through the portal; makes it through but loses her ID and a frying pan falling out of her bag (hope dorcha’s extradition rules are fine)
Guards jump out of the portal into Dorcha with her

Zalac and Naomi run; Diana manages to catch up with them
We run in a Direction and end up in the Big Travel Portal Room where a ton of people are coming out from a million different portal places
The guards are coming in through the crowd.
Zalac puts his glasses on Diana Clark Kent style to disguise her, which also brings out Calaz because he took off his talisman.
Giant fucking wolf appears in the crowd. Zalac tries to distract the crowd by having everyone pet the big exotic doggie who wants to pet the doggie he’s such a good boy
Naomi takes out two arrows to give Diana a haircut in an alleyway (?????)
Successfully gives Diana an extremely bad and jagged haircut
We remember that Diana has a change of clothes and Diana puts it on
DISGUISE COMPLETE
Diana and Naomi come back to the crowd and start petting da dog
The guards get entirely distracted by the amazing pettable doggy
Cloud is very disappointed in us (particularly the haircut) and is upset that this worked
“We have now reached the part of the doc labeled ‘for people who have behaved’, you have not behaved, yet somehow you’re here anyway”
Zalac can’t fucking see because he doesn’t have his glasses so Calaz is his guide dog right now. We are going around the festival with a horse dog but like merry christmas or whatever
We go and have fun eating festival food (on Naomi’s dime because we have no fucking money)
Ginger and Calaz are given an allowance to go off by themselves to play festival games :)
Ginger is on Calaz’s head ratatouille style
They play the hoop-throwing game very successfully despite being not particularly agile (best friend arc bonus) and win a good prize after a beautiful nat 20 on the last hoop
We get a sheep plushie the size of Ginger
Naomi buys all 3 of us really shitty cheap horrible looking sunglasses. Zalac is given his glasses back because Diana has new glasses now. He proceeds to put the sunglasses on top of his glasses
Ginger and Calaz now play the “hit the thing really hard to hit the bell” game
They also do amazing at this one and get a small frog plushie (very important)
Ginger and Calaz buy friendship bracelets in their best friend arc (also very important)
Group finally reconvenes, we buy warm clothes and then go to the potion stall and instead of buying normal potions we immediately start looking at the weird ones
Naomi buys a weird one that says “become your true self” and just chugs it in front of the potion seller
She is a rabbit now
We continue buying potions rabbit mode
We buy a green one that has a spider on it (Naomi) and a bright yellow one with a sun on it (Zalac)
Ginger and Calaz play the fishing-up-ducks carnival game together (they work together to operate the fishing pole) and do… okay
They get a tiny raccoon plushie and a medium sized chicken plushie
We finally go to bed lol
Lodging is 5 gold/person but Naomi is currently a rabbit so we only have to pay 10 :sunglasses:
